Mysterious appearance of new “Paranormal Activity 2” clip

Something really strange happened to Cinematical‘s writer during Fantastic Fest:
“While roaming around Fantastic Fest, Cinematical was slipped a mysterious flash drive with a clip from ‘Paranormal Activity 2’. And when we say slipped, we mean our writer found this in his back pocket when he woke up this morning with no idea how it got there. Creepy. We’re not sure how, exactly, this fits into the overall story of the sequel, but we can tell you that it takes place in the family room of a house at 1:41am. The dog is sleeping on the couch, alone, and all is quiet, when all of a sudden the clip becomes distorted and we see … well, maybe we should let you find out for yourself by watching the clip after the jump.

Not much is known about ‘Paranormal Activity 2’ at this point. Based on what we’ve seen so far, we can tell the subjects of this film are a family instead of a couple, but that could be a decoy and maybe the family are the ones who are haunting the house. Like they did last year with ‘Paranormal Activity’, Paramount is getting creative with the marketing of its much-anticipated sequel by running a contest allowing fans to demand an advanced screening in their city. The top 20 cities who demand it the most will get a sneak peek at the film before it hits theaters on October 22nd, right before Halloween.”
