My Reading Schedule

1. Sookie

I’m a big fan of the TV Series “True Blood”, but I must admit that it’s kind of trashy and can be a bit annoying. The books are totally different though! At the moment I’m reading #5 “Dead as a Doornail” and all five books have been really funny and exciting. It lacks the corniness of Twilight and is way more realistic than the Bella/Edward/Jake love story. Actually it reminds me more of “Buffy – The Vampireslayer”. Sookie is really witty and hilarious, the vampires are how real vampires should be, brutal and ruthless, and there are lots of other funny creatures like fairies, werewolves and shapeshifters. So if you’ve had enough of Twilight, the sob story of the decade, I recommend you’d read Charlaine Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse series.

2. decoded

Today I bounced like a moron when I saw that finally Jay-Z’s Decoded was in my mailbox. For any non-Europeans: the weather was so bad (snow, snow and more snow) that a lot of packages took ages to arrive. I’ve just skimmed through it and it looks sooo awesome! Lots of great pictures and the first few pages were already so fascinating that it was hard for me to stop reading, but I still have five more books about Sookie to read, so “Decoded” has to wait a bit.

3. neverwhere

I’m a big fan of Neil Gaiman since I’ve read “Stardust” and “Coraline”. He’s the master of Fantasy stories on the borderline to Horror. Also, it got a review from Tori Amos of all people on the back. That must count for something.
