Adam Ruehmer Kicks Off Blog Series About Touring With Linkin Park

Adam Ruehmer, Marketing Manager of Linkin Park, has started with his blog series about Linkin Park’s world tour on galesburg.com, with two great blog posts. While Adam introduces himself in the first one, he talks about the great intimate live show of Linkin Park at the House of Blues in LA yesterday (fan reviews coming up, stay tuned!):

Hey Mom, I’m Going On Tour With Linkin Park

By Adam Ruehmer

Before I get into the exciting (hopefully) stuff, I think I should fill you in on who I am. I was born and raised in Galesburg and my parents, Terry and Melissa Ruehmer, still live there. I went to Lincoln Elementary (RIP), Lombard Jr. High, and graduated from Galesburg High School in 2002. I graduated from McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, MN in 2007. I’ve been living in Los Angeles since 2008. I work for the band Linkin Park. Next week, I head to Europe to join the band on their World Tour.

Last night, Linkin Park kicked off their touring cycle with a show at the Houes of Blues on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles. This was an extremely intimate show for the band, as the venue only holds 1,200 people. Admission to the concert was for members of the band’s official fan club, the LP Underground, only. Linkin Park also runs a non-profit called Music For Relief that was organized after the 2004 tsunami. This year, Music For Relief is focusing on a campaign called “Power The World” where they’re hoping to bring sustainable energy to those people in the world who do not have it. The show last night was also meant to raise awareness about the campaign, and raise funds for it.

I got to the venue around noon, and fans were already lined up, some since 5AM. Much of the afternoon was spent running around, getting the Music For Relief auction set up, answering calls and emails that had nothing to do with the show, and making sure everyone was where they needed to be. At 6:30, the band did a big unveiling of their Linkin Park Honda Civic. Since they’ll be co-headlining the Honda Civic Tour this year with Incubus, Honda painted a really cool Linkin Park Honda Civic and a Honda motorcycle that will be raffled off at the end of the tour. After Mike and Chester from LP unveiled the car, some fans were let in and were invited to attend a “pre-show hang” with members of LP. Phoenix and Joe from the band stopped in and hung out with fans for while, signing autographs and taking photos.
