Ryu (Get Busy Committee/Styles of Beyond) To Release Solo Record

Ryu announced via Twitter that he just started working on a solo album! https://twitter.com/#!/TherealRyu/status/154081798270353408 In case you don't know Ryu, he spent the last years doing great songs with Hip Hop crews Get Busy Committee and Styles of Beyond. He was also heavily featured on Mike Shinoda's solo project "Fort Minor". Ryu released a solo song last year called "Did it to Myself" which was extremely well received, so I'm pretty sure that his upcoming album will be great! My Most Anticipated Album Releases in 2012

After 2011 has been such a great year in music, 2012 looks like it could be even better with many great artists releasing new albums next year! Here are the ones I'm looking forward to the most: 1. Lana Del Rey - Born to Die (January 30) Lana del Rey is probably one of the most hyped artists out there, but the four already released songs (Video Games, Blue Jeans, Born to Die, Off to the Races) from her upcoming album "Born to Die" definitely live up to all the expectations! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XLHFiGauDY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_jWcIDqXq0

My Favourite Albums of 2011

Looking back at 2011 (yes, it's THAT time again), I feel that this year was an amazing year for music. There were so many really good albums released, I thought I should make a list with my ten favourite albums of 2011. This list is totally subjective, of course, so don't be surprised if you can't find some of the year's most successful albums in it (e.g. Adele, Coldplay). 10. Tyler the Creator - Goblin I used to listen to a lot of rap music when i was in my teens, but then turned to rock music when i got a bit older. Even though I still listened to some rap artists like Eminem, Jay-Z and Kanye West, I wasn't really enthusiastic about that genre anymore. Tyler the Creator's "Goblin" totally changed that! I love Tyler's puristic style and his bold and pretty crude lyrics. I've bought "Goblin" together with Kanye's and Jay-Z's much-anticipated "Watch the Throne" album, but surprisingly ended up preferring the minimalistic "Goblin" over "Watch the Throne". Like Eminem, Tyler is much criticized for his misogynistic and homophobic lyrics, but in my opinion people take this too serious. To quote Tyler: "It's fucking fiction!" Best songs: "Yonkers", "Radicals", "Tron Cat", "Nightmare" ...

What’s on Harry Potter’s iPod?

With the stateside debut of the final "Harry Potter" film, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2," this Friday (July 15), HP fanatics are asking themselves, "What do we do now?" As for us here at Billboard.com, after sitting through seven (and soon to be eight) Potter films that featured regal yet haunting musical scores by John Williams and Alexandre Desplat (among others), we're left wondering what Harry's main jam is. The songs that pumped him up for the big Quidditch matches, or gave him the strength to face He Who Shall Not Be Named -- or at least what he listened to while trudging through his Defense Against the Dark Arts homework. We're putting aside the fact that in J.K. Rowling's books, Harry was born in 1980, not pinning down his musical choices to any specific era. Read on to hear a choice (and telling) selection of songs from the iPods of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley and Draco Malfoy, or at least what we imagine them to be....

WTF-Moment: Linkin Park Criticized For Playing A Relief Show For Japan!

Jesse Mohr from rev967.com has quite the strong opinion about Linkin Park's ongoing relief efforts for the Tsunami victims in Japan. You can read his post below. I wanna make clear, that I so don't agree with that! 1. Of course there are a million places, where people need help, but you got to start somewhere and Linkin Park have also supported and organized relief stuff for Haiti and tons of other regions that were hit by natural disasters. Also, we really shouldn't forget that millions of people will suffer from the after effects of the Tsunami in Japan for decades! 2. The point that people should invest their "hard-earned" money in their own countries first really pisses me off! When do we finally realize that we are ONE people on ONE earth? Everybody should decide for themselves which relief organisations they want to support, and in my opinion you should just listen to your heart instead of sorting people and their problems into hierarchies. For example, I have donated to Save the Children, MFR, Donate Life and I am an online volunteer for UNHCR, but that doesn't mean that I think other issues are less important, I just had to make a decision eventually. You can discuss Jesse's opinion in the comment section! Here's his post:...
