Eminem is ‘lining up’ acting roles
Eminem has confirmed that he is planning to return to acting in the near future.
The rapper has made only sporadic appearances since his big-screen debut in the 2002 film 8 Mile, with several cameos in Entourage and in the Adam Sandler comedy Funny People. However, Eminem has said that he is now looking for a new film project.
“There are some things in the [works], couple of scripts,” he told MTV News recently. “I guess it’s more so of just waiting now to see how they come together.”
“Obviously it’s gotta be something that I feel is dope enough to make me want to say, ‘Okay, let me put the mic down for a second and go do this movie’,” he explained.
Eminem received positive reviews for his portrayal of young rapper Jimmy Smith in 8 Mile, but admitted that acting requires a different set of skills.
“You may be used to performing to the camera and you may be used to doing certain things in videos and things like that, but it’s a whole different ballgame when the music is off and you have lines you need to say,” he added. “It takes a minute to get used to.”
In January it was reported that Eminem was attached to star in the crime thriller Random Acts of Violence.
