Big Action Teased for THE WALKING DEAD Season Two; Robert Kirkman Comments on Herschel & Shane
The second season of The Walking Dead returns this Halloween and series creator Robert Kirkman caught up with AMC interviewers while on set in Atlanta. The Eisner winning writer revealed that effects guru Greg Nicotero has significantly upped his game, which was already seemingly the best in the horror world. “There are going to be some memorable comic book zombies here and there, and then a lot is just Greg going, ‘OK, what can you do to the human body?’” said Kirkman.
Aside from zombie gore splattering the countryside, Kirkman also revealed that it doesn’t take long for the 13-episode second season to ignite into action mode. “There are some really awesome set-pieces coming up in the first episode,” he said.
In the first season, we were shown what the zombie plague can do to urban centers and the city. For the second season it’s confirmed that our group of survivors are hitting the road and running to the country-side. “Rather than repeat ourselves we’re going out into the woods. We’re gonna see a lot of rural roads and open fields see how bad things are as you get away from the city centers,” said Kirkman.
“The casting on Season 2 is going to be as pitch-perfect as the casting on Season 1. I can’t wait for everyone to meet Hershel,” said Kirkman.
