British star confirms he is only contracted for one more year
Hugh Laurie has suggested that his hit US show House may end after its next season. The British actor’s medical drama is nearing the end of its seventh run, and Laurie is currently contracted for an eighth. But with other actors yet to sign up for even that, he has predicted that the next will prove to be the final season.
He told the Radio Times: “The end of that season, right now, looks like the end of the show. That (season eight) is as far as they’ve got me for.”
The Blackadder veteran became an international star thanks to his casting as the grumpy, pill-popping Dr Gregory House on the Fox comedy drama, which launched in 2004. However, recently he has been branching out with his his first foray into music, a blues album called Let Them Talk.
