Hayley responds to Josh Farro’s Blog

Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams has opened up for the first time since former guitarist Josh Farro posted his account of why he left the Tennessee pop-rockers online.

Speaking to MTV news, the singer said she had no idea he was going to post anything on the internet and his comments really hurt her.

“I don’t know if I got a phone call or an email but I woke up to it basically and that sucked,” she said. “I was not happy. It hurt [me].”

Williams added that the reasons why Farro and his brother Zac (drums) told her they were leaving the band were not the same as the ones that appeared in his blog.

“What we were told was that they weren’t happy, and you can’t be mad at someone for not feeling something,” Williams explained. “And if they don’t want to be in the band then that’s a simple answer. But then it became about all these other things. I was very surprised and I kinda felt lead on almost, y’know?

She also added that Farro has betrayed Paramore’s fans for suggesting that they’re a “manufactured product.”

“Every second that we’ve spent on stage, all the meet and greets, the stuff we’ve gotten to do with our fans… That’s the stuff we’ve built, that’s the stuff we’ve worked really hard for and I don’t think anyone should discredit it,” she said.
