In case you don't recognise Alex anymore, watch this:

Remember? Well, the guy is putting quite an effort into releasing solo music independently and his debut solo record "We've all been there" was released last year! I think every artist who goes independent these days deserves our respect! This is the future of the music business!
Also, I've met him several times and saw his concert, the dude is incredibly nice as well! :-)
This is the title track of Alex' debut album and also my favourite one:

Video: The Evolution of Music Online
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=puC38rhREvc
As the 90s came to a close, the business of music began to change profoundly. New technology allowed artists to record and produce their own music and music videos, and the internet became a free-for-all distribution platform for musicians to promote themselves to audiences across the world. The result was a massive influx of artists onto the cultural scene, and audiences were left wondering how to sort through them all. In this episode we discuss these changes, and reveal how music blogs and websites have arisen as the new arbiters of quality.

OutListen’s Crowdsourced Concert Videos: A New Music Format

OutListen aims to pair fan videos with soundboard audio to create crowdsourced concert videos. Image modified from OutListen.com
Attending a show is different now. Everybody’s holding up a cellphone shooting video instead of watching and listening. This doesn’t have to be a 100-percent bad thing, however.
A startup called OutListen intends to turn this sow’s ear into a silk purse by encouraging concertgoers to upload their smartphone footage to an online calendar. If enough people upload footage from the same show, OutListen will cobble it all together by syncing the audio waveforms (clever), so that the band (or more likely their “people”) can add the high-quality audio track they hopefully remembered to record at the show, and then release the result as a new type of music product: the crowdsourced concert video.

Two years after the earthquake in Haiti, Music for Relief continues to help via Power the World

Photo: Music for Relief
It's been two years since the devastating Haiti earthquake killed 316,000 people, laying waste to a country already suffering from extreme poverty and environmental degradation. The crisis in Haiti continues today. Since the earthquake, Haitians have endured hurricanes, flooding, and a cholera outbreak. Adding to the chaos, a staggering 8 million people live without access to grid electricity, meaning families spend 12 hours every night in complete darkness.
With your help, Music for Relief responded to send aid to Haiti immediately following the disaster in 2010, and our response continued in 2011. All proceeds supported the extraordinary work of our partner organizations on the ground as they delivered food, clean water, medical care, education and tackled the challenges of long-term recovery.
Funds raised through Download to Donate also supported the installation of environmentally friendly LED solar streetlights to protect women and children from violence when walking in the camps at night. ...

In case you don't know Ryu, he spent the last years doing great songs with Hip Hop crews Get Busy Committee and Styles of Beyond. He was also heavily featured on Mike Shinoda's solo project "Fort Minor".
Ryu released a solo song last year called "Did it to Myself" which was extremely well received, so I'm pretty sure that his upcoming album will be great! Here are some videos with Ryu:
