Fan Review: Linkin Park at Rock in Rio, Lisbon (Portugal) by Fabio

Hey guys, I’d like to apologize as I’m writing not only about LP performance, but the whole experience I had that day. The reason I’m doing that? Cause this was my first LP concert and meet+greet so I felt that wouldn’t be fair to share with you what this day meant to me in many ways . Big thanks to Adie for letting me write this down on her blog =) Saturday, May 26th, the BIG day has finally come, I was pretty sure that day had the necessary trumps for each LP(Uer) fan/Street Soldier to succeed and accomplish what they hopelessly wanted, see Linkin Park having a blast with their loyal fans as ONE . It was time for me to move on, and go straightly to Rock in Rio which was about to be my LP debut concert. I took the train to Bela Vista (RiR Venue), and fortunately met my friend Rita and Monique on the way. They looked just like me but especially Rita, eyes overflowing  joy while her smile from tooth to tooth were proving excitement for keeping in mind that Linkin Park was separated from us for  just few hours. We got there finally, and we got caught up in the middle of like a thousand people in line to enter the venue. Some of em’ wearing their “music” from  heaviest to the softest music style, not just the bands who were about to perform, from Pink Floyd to Motorhead, The Offspring to Linkin Park. I was glad to see most of em’ wearing  LP shirts, for me the alleged headliner for that day. I could hear some fans shouting their lyrics while the line was moving forward to the main entrance, unwittingly I started to picture how would it be the whole thing, when they finally appear *.* .. ...

Video: Evanescence Live at Rock in Rio Full Show

Evanescence were really good at Rock in Rio. They played a nice set of their older songs and new ones from their latest album "Evanescence" (which is great by the way). Amy was vocally great, but somehow the crowd wasn't really that energetic. Maybe it just wasn't transported well in the video, but when you compare it to the 83,000 people who attended Linkin Park's performance at Rock in Rio, this looks really lame. Watch Evanescence's full show after the jump! ...

SoundCloud Hopes Its Slick Redesign Will ‘Unmute the Web’

SAN FRANCISCO — SoundCloud, the online music-streaming platform and de facto music label for independent artists trying to share their tunes efficiently, announced a complete redesign of its service Wednesday, in what the Berlin-based company called an attempt to “unmute the web.” The new version of SoundCloud, which the company called “The Next SoundCloud” and launched in private beta Wednesday, offers four new or improved features to the online music platform. Those include a sleeker player (improving on SoundCloud’s signature waveform design), the ability to play sounds continuously and navigate away from a particular track to continue searching the site without the audio stopping, improved search algorithms and tools, and the ability to repost audio in a way very similar to the “reblog” feature on Tumblr. The improvements, SoundCloud co-founder and CEO Alexander Ljung said, were an attempt to make the web more audio-friendly. ...

Special Share to Earn Program For Linkin Park Fansites and I am Rooting For…

...Linkin Park Association! Yes, I know there are other great sites, and I love them all, but I've decided to support the LPA for the following reasons: - their forum is great! I don't think that there's a forum on any other LP site that has so many members, so no matter what Linkin Park news surface, you always have someone to talk about it there. Also, they've been very helpful in solving those funny little puzzles LP threw our way. - through the years, they've managed to obtain some great exclusives for us! - they always manage to engage the fans with some funny stuff e.g. the monthly remix contest - fast news & tour updates. I especially love the live setlist tweeting during LP shows - Try the Ketchup, Motherfucker! So after all the schmoozing, here's what you have to do! Preorder Linkin Park's upcoming album "LIVING THINGS" via this link:

Keep in mind that I am also competing in the "normal fan edition" of the share to earn program, so you can also purchase the album under the following link and support me! Thanks in advance!

If the LPA wins, they'll get some really great prizes and we, the fans, will profit big time from those! Here's LPA's post about the program with all the details:...

Great Article About Linkin Park’s Marketing Manager Adam Ruehmer

Most Linkin Park fans know Adam Ruehmer, but for those who don't, he's pretty much the guy you turn to whenever there's a question about the fan club, live shows, ticket sale, etc. Galesburg's local newspaper, The Register-Mail, featured a little article about his work on their website, which also says that Adam will blog from the road for them! Things to look forward to! Here's the article:
Galesburg’s Adam Ruehmer told me recently he will accompany Linkin Park on its world tour this year. A 2002 GHS graduate, Adam is marketing manager for the band. “Our first leg takes us all over Europe, from Lisbon, to Moscow, even to Romania. I leave in a month. Following that, we’re doing a huge U.S. tour with the band Incubus in August.” All tour dates are up at www.linkinpark.com/events/event/listFeatured. Adam has agree to blog from the Linkin Park world tour for galesburg.com, so check back for updates. Meanwhile, I asked Adam to fill us in on his duties with Linkin Park: My official title is Marketing Manager for Linkin Park Strategic Marketing. It’s a mouthful, I know. Here’s what that means: ...

Alex Band News Roundup: New Band, Album News, EP Release Date

Alex Band, who is struggling to build a career as an independent artist after his huge success with The Calling, has had a few problems last year. Some concerts in Germany had to be cancelled because Alex had some health issues and he took a little social media time out to get better. The time out is over now, because Alex posted this message a few days ago:
Hey everyone! Long time no talk!!! It truly warms my heart to know that my absence has weighed just as heavy on all of you as it has on me. I want you to all know, that each and every one of you have been in my heart and on my mind every single day over these last few crazy months that were filled with some of the most difficult and greatest experiences of my life. I’m so happy to say that I’m truly now 100% back in business, feeling better than ever, and at the most exciting point in my career thus far. I’m VERY ready to give you guys a taste of what’s in-store from my insanely talented new band and I: Sean Kipe (Lead Guitar), Art Pacheco (Drums) and Simon Huber (Bass/Strings). We have been working day and night writing and recording my awesome brand new album, right here in my newly-built, unbelievably beautiful, and fully-functioning recording studio of my dreams (check out some pictures I just took here: http://on.fb.me/HB7pKm . My cats and I were literally living inside the new recording studio (aptly called “Studio A”) for over 3 months, while I was building it from the ground up; all while I was also finishing the 5 song Killer Tracks half album, which by the way will be out soon. WORLDWIDE, on iTunes for you all to purchase....

SECRET 7″ Teenage Cancer Trust Exhibition At Idea Generation Gallery (London)

There is something about vinyl that transcends every format that has followed in its path. An integral reason for this is that it's allure and functionality allows the listener to be absorbed by more than one of their senses. Secret 7" is a project which aims to rekindle some of the excitement for sleeve art in the digital era by exploring how a track would be interpreted by an array of brilliant artists. In April the Idea Generation gallery in Shoreditch, London will exhibit around 700 unique seven-inch sleeves inspired by tracks from The Cure, Florence + The Machine, Bombay Bicycle Club, CSS, DJ Shadow, Noah & The Whale and Ben Howard. The exhibition has an added air of mystery as no-one will know who designed each sleeve, or which of our seven tracks is housed inside. On the 21st April – Record Store Day – through to close on Sunday the exhibition is yours to own. Each of the one-of-a-kind heavyweight 7'' records will be available to take home with you for a minimum donation to Teenage Cancer Trust of £40. Every penny profited from the sale of these exclusive vinyl records is going to the charity. Find us on facebook And on twitter
