Linkin Park: A Thousand Suns over Jakarta’s night sky

Another great review of Linkin Park's Jakarta show:
After being stormed by Yellow Card, Panic! At the Disco, and Bad Religion in the Big Wave festival one day earlier, the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Jakarta, reverberated once again with great music as Linkin Park staged a spectacular show on September 21, 2011. There may not have been many stars or moonlight that night, but the 6-men band from California truly lightened up Jakarta’s cloudy sky as they brought nothing but a superb performance under the theme "A Thousand Suns" World Tour. The talk about Linkin Park returning to Indonesia for the second time had been the hype for months prior to their arrival, and tickets were reportedly sold out days before the show. Outside of Jakarta, fans from cities such Bandung, Surabaya, Bali, Medan, and overseas geared up for the concert and many even came in organized groups or communities. The waves of these die-hard fans began to pour down on the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium at noon. Complete with Linkin Park or LP logo T-shirts and all kinds of associated accessories, fans of varying ages and origins began to form long massive queues in front of the entrance gates from mid-afternoon, hours before these were scheduled to open. ...

Nu metal rockers Linkin Park performed to an eager crowd on Wednesday night at Bung Karno Stadium in South Jakarta. The show was one of the final stops on the band’s A Thousand Suns world tour, which kicked off last October. After two more stops in Bangkok and Singapore, the members of Linkin Park will return home to the United States. Wednesday night’s show was Linkin Park’s second appearance in Indonesia. It first performed here in 2004. Fans Donie Ajo, 21, and Galang Ajieprayoga, 20, remembered being too young to attend the 2004 show in Ancol, North Jakarta. They said they lived outside the capital and they had not been allowed to skip school to go to the concert. Galang, now a university student, said there was no way he was going to miss Wednesday’s show and the chance finally to see his favorite band play live. “I’m even a member of LPU,” he said, referring to Linkin Park Underground, the band’s official fan club. To pay for the concert ticket, which cost between Rp 550,000 and Rp 2.5 million ($60 and $280), Galang said he was prepared to sell his mobile phone, though it didn’t actually come to that. He said he managed to get together enough money to secure himself a good seat. ...

Fan Review: A Golden Ticket To Rock Allegiance With Papa Roach, Puddle of Mudd, P.O.D. & more

Review of the Rock Allegiance Tour, September 21, 2011 in Colorado Springs by Nichole Portales

I traveled to Colorado Springs, Co for the Rock Allegiance Tour which is an hour away, so we had to leave at 2:00pm in order to make VIP check in at 3:15. The person that checked us in was right on time. I went to go pull out my id and he didn't even check it. He said, Oh, you're the golden ticket girl. (I won a "Golden Ticket" last year which entitles you to VIP at any show until end of 2013, all you have to do is register in advance) So he gave me the VIP dog tags instead of laminates, as that is what they were using for this show. Those things were really cool, but they were heavy that they clanked really loud, so everyone knew you were coming by. ...
