Special Art Post: RISK

FINALLY! Another "Special Art Post"! The last one was ages ago, so I thought it was about time to write a new one, and as I wanted this comeback to be special, I've chosen none other than master of desaster, king of graffiti, legend of the aerosol and one who's pretty high on my neverending list of favourite artists - RISK!

Biography
In a career spanning 27 years, RISK has impacted the evolution of graffiti as an art form in Los Angeles and worldwide. RISK gained major notoriety for his unique style and pushed the limits of graffiti further than any writer in L.A. had before: He was one of the first writers in Southern California to paint freight trains, and he pioneered writing on “heavens,” or freeway overpasses. At the peak of his career he took graffiti from the streets and into the gallery with the launch of the Third Rail series of art shows, and later parlayed the name into the first authentic line of graffiti-inspired clothing. ...

Fan Review: Ba’s M&G and Concert at Sonisphere, Italy

And finally, June 26, 2011 is here! After many months of waiting, finally my dream came true! Nothing could prepare me for an experience so magical. After a very hot afternoon, finally comes the moment of the M & G. How exciting. Here they are .... I shake everyone's hand and, in my English a little 'low, I try to say something. I remain enchanted in front of the blue eyes of Phoenix and ask him if he likes Italy. He says "Yes" and added he would like to return, but on vacation! Damn. Italian fans are so passionate . Why not come to Italy more often?? With Joe I exchange a "Ciao" and then I am in front of my idol, Mike! I ask him to devote the autograph to "BA" and he said "Just BA? That's the shortest name I've ever heard" And I explain him that it stands for Barbara. and so all my plans to tell him many things disappear in the emotion....

Fan Review: Tensh_iie’s Summit Experience

Linkin Park LPU Summit Review 20/21 June, 2011 by tensh_iie

The first Linkin Park LPU Summit EVER was held in the beginning of this week, 20/21 June 2011. It's the first time I am reviewing for AdieK84's blog, but I am happy to do so ;)

Day 1 – A night of games and activities The first day of the Summit was held on Monday in the “Schwarz-Licht-Viertel” in Hamburg. I never heard of that place before so I was excited to see what our beloved LPU had thought of for us. My friends and I traveled about 1 ½ hour to Hamburg and reached the meeting point 30 Minutes earlier. A few fellow LPU'er were already waiting on the outside and it didn't take long before Adam came over to greet us. Adam is a very nice and gentle guy and I am very happy I had the opportunity to meet him. Anyways after that I went inside were other LPUers were already waiting. So I took a seat, ordered something drink and pretty soon everyone was talking and chatting. Seeing that I've been to a several Linkin Park Concerts before I already knew a bunch of people, or just had seen their faces before. After everyone had arrived (around 26/30 people) Adam welcomed us AGAIN and explained everything that was about to happen today and he even told us some things about tomorrow. After that we were split up into groups and brought, one group after the other, to the, let me call it the “Playground”. We were about to play Underground Mini-golf. I NEVER played Mini-golf before, so I was sure I would suck balls. Anyways we arrived at the Playground and I was stunned. The whole thing was like a tunnel with a bunch of turns and curves, corners and stuff and it all was painted in like Underwater-world Environment, or jungle, technical stuff. And on top of that everything and enlightened by black light, which means the pictures were glowing and shining. It looked incredible. I never saw something like that before, a really original idea in my opinion. ...

Graffiti Vandalism Follows ‘Art in the Streets’ Show at MOCA in Little Tokyo

AitS Police have received complaints from downtown dwellers about an increase in vandalism they think is related to MOCA's upcoming "Art in the Streets" show at the Geffen Contemporary. It's not clear to us if residents and business owners have a problem with some of the clearly related murals that have gone up in the area or some of the tagging that has followed. But either way, it's all illegal, the LAPD's Jack Richter tells the Weekly. Come again? Yeah, even a mural that's going up on the actual Geffen in Little Tokyo would be verboten under city rules. ...

Happy Birthday Mr. (Joe) Hahn

This week some great people are celebrating their birthdays! After Erin Yoshi's brithday yesterday, today it's time for Linkin Park's Joe Hahn to pop some bottles! For those of you who don't know, Joe, who usually goes by Mr. Hahn, is not only Linkin Park's DJ, but also the best DJ in the world! Yes, Lethal, I said the best DJ in the world! Wait a minute, my brother is a DJ, too, so Joe is the second best DJ in the world! Sorry Joe, but blood is sicker than your mustache! By the way, he turned 87 today! Here's proof: http://twitter.com/#!/joehahnLP/status/47486017288142848 In honour of the magnificent Hahn (did you know that "Hahn" is the German word for "cock"? Just saying...)
