Fan Review: 30 Seconds to Mars in Athens

Review of the 30 Seconds to Mars concert on July 6 in Athens by Evooba The day had finally come! I was excited to see the band perform live since they are one of my favorite bands but also because they’ve been touring for like 2 years straight now with no breaks and they said they’re going to take a break from touring and writing really soon, so seeing them live was a hell of an opportunity now. As I was getting ready in the morning, my friend who was coming with me at the concert, called me to tell me that there might be a little problem. At first I didn’t really understand what was happening but short story long, she hurt her leg the previous day and couldn’t walk really well nor stand up for long. I didn’t know how serious the situation was till we got the venue. ...

Beyonce covers Kings Of Leon and Prince at Glastonbury

Beyonce brought Glastonbury to a bootylicious climax on the Pyramid Stage tonight (June 26). The R&B superstar made her much-anticipated headline slot just before 10pm, and treated the crowd to a end-of-festival show packed with hits, covers and surprises. The singer opened with her smash 'Crazy In Love', which despite rumours, did not see Jay-Z turn up. But the song did see giant fireworks fire up on each side of the stage in time to the track's signature trumpets. Next, the clearly-moved singer greeted an ecstatic Glastonbury with an impassioned speech where she declared, "I always wanted to be a rock star, and tonight we are all rock stars!!" She continued: “I want to make beautiful memories and be free tonight.”...

Review: Linkin Park Rock Sonisphere Italy To The Core

The temperature rises in Imola as Sonisphere continues to rumble across Europe. We catch Funeral for A Friend, Guano Apes, The Cult, Alter Bridge, Sum 41, My Chemical Romance and Linkin Park laying waste to Italy….. Getting into the venue today was challenging to say the least – the small matter of an hour’s drive to the venue, collect media passes, walk 5km in the blistering mid-day sun – Easy. The first band for us was Funeral for a Friend. They were on our flight the previous day and seemed like really good guys. Onstage they were blistering; provoking circle pits to break out at random throughout the crowd. Finishing their set on a high, the crowd were ecstatic and the atmosphere in the arena was electric. Next up for us was Guano Apes. Their blend of melody and hard rock went down amazingly well. Front-woman Sandra Nasic was powerful, charismatic and she didn’t miss a note. This band has been around for a while and it shows. They worked the crowd expertly and reaped the rewards. Great work Guano Apes, the surprise band of the day for me....

Evanescence: New Album In October

Multi-platinum rock band Evanescence is currently recording in Nashville and intends to finish (except for mixing) its next album by the end of June, singer/pianist Amy Lee tells Billboard.com. The target date to release the album on Wind-up Records is Oct. 4. "After finishing touring [behind 2006 album "The Open Door"], I just sort of took off and didn't know what I was going to do next and wasn't sure if the Evanescence thing would happen again or when it would," Lee says, adding that she took about 18 months off before she got the urge to start writing music again. "I ended up falling back in love with Evanescence again and wanted to work with the guys, and it became more of a group project."...

Fan Review: Linkin Park Project Revolution in Leipzig + M&G

Concert Review Linkin Park Project Revolution

Festwiese, Leipzig + M&G on June 18, 2011

By LPfan1989

Arriving at the Venue At 11 am I made my way to Leipzig and the drive was so uneventful and relaxed that we arrived at the venue at 2.30pm already. My buddy and me, who was also my official assistant, because I'm sitting in a wheelchair, had a little break first, but then went to the entrance. First we went to the wrong one, which was closed (we weren't the only ones doing this), so we had to walk back again to the other entrance. After it started to rain so hard that we had to find shelter first, we asked the staff at the box office for information on the M&G and wheelchair space. They told me some totally wrong information, saying that the meeting place for the M&G was the box office, when we found out later that it was the bell tower. When we went through the entrance our stuff was examined by the staff there and they took two water bottles (from four) and my snap light sticks, and I had to open the mailing tube that contained my poster cause I could've hidden anything in there.
